x^2 - 3x + 2 = 0 OR, x^2 - 2x - x - 2 = 0 OR, x(x-2) - 1(x-2) = 0 OR, (x-1)(x-2)=0 So, x = 1 or x = 2 Putting x = 1 in given equation, we get a - b + 13 = 0 and putting x =2 we get 2a - b + 8 = 0 Solving a - b + 13= 2a - b + 8 Or, a + 13 = 2a + 8 Or, a = 5 Using a = 5,you can find that b = 18
