Reproduction in Plants

Every living being is capable of producing its own kind. Plants show two kinds of reproduction, viz. asexual and sexual reproduction. In asexual reproduction, a single parent is involved in the process. In sexual reproduction, two parents are involved. Flower is the reproductive part of a plant. The male part of the flower is anther which produces male gametes or pollen grains. The female part of the flower is ovary which produces ovum. Fertilization of male and female gametes is an important step of sexual reproduction. Zygote is formed after fertilization which subsequently develops into embryo.
