Natural Resources

Our surrounding is called environment. Our immediate environment is like a self contained system which is full of interdependencies. This system of interdependencies is called ecosystem. An ecosystem is composed of two main components, viz. biotic and abiotic components. All the living organisms in an ecosystem make the biotic component, while the non-living things make the abiotic component. Every living being needs to take various abiotic components and thus all of us are dependent on abiotic components. Moreover, various biotic components are also dependent on each other. Green plants trap solar energy to convert it into chemical energy. All other organisms directly or indirectly take this energy from green plants; in the form of food.
